Dr. Andrew Sherwood is Professor of Medical Psychology and Director of the Biobehavioral Research Laboratory at Duke University Medical Center. He is a fellow of the Society of Behavioral Medicine and the Academy of Behavioral Medicine Research.His research focuses on physiological pathways linking behavior and lifestyle factors to cardiovascular disease. Dr. Sherwood is currently Principal Investigator of studies at Duke examining vascular regulation in postmenopausal women, biobehavioral aspects of prognosis in heart failure, and the causes and consequences of high nighttime blood pressure. He is also Co-Principal Investigator of an ongoing randomized clinical trial evaluating diet and exercise interventions for the treatment of hypertension |
